This week, I am celebrating 14 years of writing to my daughters at Nuggets from Dad on Google Blogger. I’m also launching every gPage Singletary thing, at www.gpagesingletary.com – a place to house a collection of short-form and longer-form thinking and writing.
It all started in 2010 when Sally left for college. See yesterday’s post, The first Nugget from Dad.
Tuesdays have always been Stay Whole Tuesday. It is appropriate that on the first Tuesday in September, 2010 I celebrating a key mentor, Stephen R. Covey, and the sentence I often refer to as the greatest ever written. Screenshot from the old blog below:

Two thoughts today:
- We all have mentors whom we never knew, like for me Covey, Zig Ziglar, and Brian Tracy. We also have mentors whom we know or knew well. I call those people cheeros – a word I made up meaning those who cheer you on in life, and say, ‘Yes, you can.’ Learn about my cheeros at churnOn pub on my site. Who were your cheeros?
- “When we engage in work that taps our talents and fuels our passions, in a way that rises out of a great need in the world that we are drawn to by conscience to meet, we are living from our sweet spot, from our true calling, from our soul’s code.” That is the place we all hope to find and it is the subject matter of a book project I am developing called RELEVANCE: From Beginning to End. Learn more about this project at churnOn pub as well.
