Proud of my WPW (Woman Power Wednesday) Daughters and their ‘Mum’

Happy WPW (Woman Power Wednesday). Let’s think about self-belief.

When I started writing to you each morning 14 years ago this month, I picked a theme for each weekday. Who could have imagined that I would end up with 1500 blog posts of this sort?

  • Make it a great Monday
  • Stay Whole Tuesday
  • Woman Power Wednesday
  • Make Anything Thursday
  • Fit as a Fiddle Friday

Monday was always about attitude, Tuesday was about wholeness, Wednesday (today) was about self-belief, Thursday was about learning and growing, and Friday was about staying fit.

Last Wednesday, we sorted through some controversy. Who was The First Woman Power Wednesday? Was it your mum? Or was it award-winning sports columnist Christine Brennan, along with Belgium professional tennis star and three-time US Open Champion Kim Clijsters?

It really does not matter. But what does is how proud I am of each of you for growing into strong, confident, beautiful, ambitious women. You are succeeding in life and work as leaders and entrepreneurs. And, not surprisingly, you have all found partners who respect and celebrate diversity and inclusion. I am proud of those guys as well, and thrilled we make a pretty good golf four-ball!

I have told you often and will repeat it. One of my great joys is working for a company that understands this. At Autodesk, we don’t just talk about it; we do it with genuine authenticity. Just look at the type of women leaders we produce and the thousands of women who are mentored and cheered onward by these leaders.

Autodesk Women’s Network: Empowering women to develop and realize their full leadership potential

Our vision is for Autodesk to become the recognized model workplace for women. We believe leadership is more than a title, and anyone can demonstrate and develop leadership skills in any role, from intern to CEO.

Walk the talk. Self-belief. Woman Power!

NUGGETS began in the fall of 2010 when our oldest daughter left for college. (Make it a Great Monday; Stay Whole Tuesday; Woman Power Wednesday; Make Anything Thursday; and Fit as a Fiddle Friday.) All these years later, we have a UGA grad, a SCAD grad, a Fightin’ Texas Aggie grad, and 1500 nuggets. Plus, Mum and Dad up and moved to England. Those are my daughters above, and their guiding light – truly my every gPage Singletary thing.

Dear Harvey: Staying in the Game

In the end, Harvey, you left us your Little Red Book—a lifetime of lessons condensed into something small enough to fit in a pocket, yet broad enough to guide generations. These letters are my attempt, in a much humbler way, to do the same—to gather what the game has taught me so far, and to keep discovering what lies at the edges.

Lateral Thinking & AI: The Future of Making

Lateral Thinking + AI is a five-part Make Anything Thursday series exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping not just the tools we use, but the way we think. From systems-level insight to the power of lateral thinking, the series connects AI with the human imagination — showing how creators, leaders, and future makers can thrive in a world where machines accelerate the work and our thinking elevates it.
