Good Fit as a Fiddle Friday to all. I am in love with tennis again!
One of the fun things about my passion project—every gPage Singletary thing—has been reviewing the archives of 1500 inspirational ‘nuggets’ I wrote for our daughters during their university years. Nuggets were typically written early each morning as a way of staying connected to the girls. Each weekday had a theme, and Friday is always about fitness and well-being.
What was the first Fit as a Fiddle Friday on Nuggets?
On 10 September, 2010, I featured a famous African proverb. The short message to Sally – a freshman at the University of Georgia at the time – ‘You better be running.’

The second FaaFF, you might ask?

Something I eventually mastered to some degree!

And what is my favourite FaaFF?

Numbers one and eleven resonate today. Throughout this past summer, I fell in love with tennis again. It took moving near Wimbledon and finding the opportunity to play on grass courts, but it happened. (And may I be forgiven for writing this on National Golf Lovers Day!)
Nothing makes me happier than mixed doubles matches with Cathy, as we did on a recent trip to Spain. We enjoyed the red clay, but got in a bit over our heads, losing to a local couple who kindly took us to a dinner in Majorca. See more Majorca pics at Creative Impulses at 65 on Make it a Great Monday.

So, who is up for a match?
Warning: we are pretty good, or at least we think we are.
Another fun match was with our friends Ruth and Dean Franks up in Sherwood Forest. We lost that one as well, but the tennis legs are slowly coming back into form. And as you can see, we sure had fun.

Shout out to our coach, Vedran Mihok at Richmond Lawn and Tennis. He is really fun to work with and one of the reasons the passion has returned.
Stay fit!
