The leadership on my team at Autodesk is doing a great job reinforcing the importance of feedback. How do we improve if we don’t know what to improve?
That is a powerful question and certainly a good one for Stay Whole Tuesday.
There are many ways to collect feedback. I like what I learned from Pat Combs in my Team Analytics Flippen Group corporate training.
Two feedback questions for any occasion:
- What did I do well?
- What could I have done better?
There are other, more complex methods of creating feedback loops, but I like keeping it simple.
And speaking of, this is week three of ‘every gPage Singletary thing’ at gpagesingletary dot com, where I have set in motion three primary objectives:
- A place to repurpose over 1500 morning inspirational notes I wrote my daughters during their university years. (nuggets)
- A place to further develop some longer-form thinking and writing focused on longevity, well-being, and business success. (churnOn pub)
- Golf, tennis, fitness, and travel experiences from an American expat in London. (balls bats & boondoggles)
This weekend, I put together a one-pager requesting some specific feedback on the project. I am sending that to people I respect and who may be kind enough to give me the gift of feedback.
What feedback systems do you use?
Stay whole.
