Woman Power Wednesday (WPW): Shereen Hoban

Woman Power Shereen Hoban

Every Wednesday, for the past 14 years, the topic on my blog, Nuggets, has been Women Power. It is my way of celebrating accomplished, self-assured women I want my three daughters to know about and look towards for inspiration.

Wednesdays are about self-belief and understanding that an important ingredient to living our best lives is to believe we can do anything we intentionally set in motion.

Today, I am celebrating Shereen Hoban, a London based business and creative coach I engaged this year to help me get my passion-project, gpagesingletary.com, over the line.

I love Shereen’s tagline on her website, which emphasises three things:
  • Be so much more
  • Do so much more
  • Achieve so much more

I turn 65 next week. This milestone birthday was the target date I set for releasing my site, tagged: every gPage Singletary thing.

When one has accumulated forty years of writing, some of which is very personal and about family, it is daunting to organize it all on a professional-looking website and properly put it out in the world. I knew I needed both creative and tactical help, and Shereen was just the right person.

Here’s an endorsement I was happy to write for Shereen recently:

Shereen Hoban is a gifted executive coach who provides everything you need when you are ready to take action and move forward in the world. In my case, it was time to button up a passion project that would allow me to develop writing projects ready for a wider audience. From that would come opportunities to expand my career and leave a legacy. Among her many gifts is the ability to listen and quickly cut to the heart of the matter in a calm and exacting way. Never pushy, but always to the point and a quick study. She helped me prioritize and advance the project over time, producing results far more significant than I could have ever done on my own. She also brings tremendous empathy, something I needed to work through some personal challenges that came my way. Whether your need is strictly of a business nature or you are looking for personal growth and transformation in other areas of your life, Shereen can help.

Woman power.

NUGGETS began in the fall of 2010 when our oldest daughter left for college. (Make it a Great Monday; Stay Whole Tuesday; Woman Power Wednesday; Make Anything Thursday; and Fit as a Fiddle Friday.) All these years later, we have a UGA grad, a SCAD grad, a Fightin’ Texas Aggie grad, and 1500 nuggets. Plus, Mum and Dad up and moved to England. Those are my daughters above, and their guiding light – truly my every gPage Singletary thing.

Dear Harvey: Staying in the Game

In the end, Harvey, you left us your Little Red Book—a lifetime of lessons condensed into something small enough to fit in a pocket, yet broad enough to guide generations. These letters are my attempt, in a much humbler way, to do the same—to gather what the game has taught me so far, and to keep discovering what lies at the edges.

featured series: Lateral Thinking + AI

Lateral Thinking & AI: The Future of Making

Lateral Thinking + AI is a five-part Make Anything Thursday series exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping not just the tools we use, but the way we think. From systems-level insight to the power of lateral thinking, the series connects AI with the human imagination — showing how creators, leaders, and future makers can thrive in a world where machines accelerate the work and our thinking elevates it.
