Woman Power Wednesday: Congrats Asani McGee on signing with Presbyterian College

Woman Power Icon[Source: KBTX, Bryan, TX] “Rudder volleyball standout Asani McGee announced Wednesday afternoon she would continue her volleyball career at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Asani holds four school records including kills in a career with 1,115, blocks in a career with 320, blocks in a single match with 9, and blocks in a season with 116.

Prior to Asani’s signing, Rudder’s assistant volleyball coach Kallie Donley read a poem that she wrote highlighting Asani’s 4 years at Rudder High School which included 3 years as a varsity letter winner where she was a three-time first-team all-district selection.”

I would enjoy reading that poem. Today is Thursday, but the phrase Women Power Wednesday comes to mind!

Above, Lucy with three of her Young Life mentorees, Asani, Bre, and RaKia. They met when they were sophomores. All four girls will graduate this spring together! We are so proud of Lucy and the way she dedicated so much of her time and energy to Young Life. One of my mentors, Zig Ziglar, said, You can have everything in life you want if you will just help other people get what they want.”

Lucy understands Zig’s quote perhaps better than most.

NUGGETS began in the fall of 2010 when our oldest daughter left for college. (Make it a Great Monday; Stay Whole Tuesday; Woman Power Wednesday; Make Anything Thursday; and Fit as a Fiddle Friday.) All these years later, we have a UGA grad, a SCAD grad, a Fightin’ Texas Aggie grad, and 1500 nuggets. Plus, Mum and Dad up and moved to England. Those are my daughters above, and their guiding light – truly my every gPage Singletary thing.

Dear Harvey: Staying in the Game

In the end, Harvey, you left us your Little Red Book—a lifetime of lessons condensed into something small enough to fit in a pocket, yet broad enough to guide generations. These letters are my attempt, in a much humbler way, to do the same—to gather what the game has taught me so far, and to keep discovering what lies at the edges.

Lateral Thinking & AI: The Future of Making

Lateral Thinking + AI is a five-part Make Anything Thursday series exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping not just the tools we use, but the way we think.
